braising the roof

here at EV HQ, braising is the cooking technique of the month. delicious and hearty and tremendously warming on a cold winter evening, and yet mila keeps complaining, asking when the braising mania will end. something to do with this braise taking two hours and she's hungry now and is it almost done yet and can she just have a bowl of ramen noodles instead?

If you want something quick I can email you the recipe I made tonight for chicken breasts - or better yet, it's easy, I can tell you about it here - mix 2 Tb each of dijon, kethcup and honey and spread on chicken breasts, then sprinkle on 1/4 tsp each of cumin, paprika and salt. Bake, basting and turning over, and enjoy in around 45 minutes or so. No long wait! Mila will be so happy.

Sorry, I meant ketchup, not the way I spelled it!

at least that recipe didn't have taco mix in it.

Why don't you just start your braise an hour or so earlier?

Or the day before - it tastes better that way anyhow.

i vote that next month's technique be microwaving.

clearly, the answer to this conflict is to get a crock pot - you can not only braise things all day, but you can make oatmeal overnight and enjoy it in the morning!

also, you can become addicted to this strange blog: http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/
