crickets
a few nights ago there were some crickets outside our window (suburbs represent yo). mila and I wondered how they made their noise. I suggested it was their legs rubbing together, but mila insisted it was their wings. wiki said it was their wings. so now mila is mighty smug. that is pretty much the whole story, mila wanted online vindication so I had to blog. I guess since it is my blog I should have just lied and said I thought it was their wings but I am not a liar what can I say?
in an unrelated vein, the station now known as omni 1, how did its jingle used to go? channel 47, cable…? someone here thinks it is “… four” while someone else thinks it is “… fun.” someone the first will cede that the latter version is perhaps a novelty variant of the telemotif, but it is certainly not the classic.

i do not remember that long jingle, which might have had fun at the end. but i do remember the short little ad that came on sometimes which just showed the number 47 graphic and said channel 47 cable 4.

I think it was originally Channel 47 cable 4 - then it was modified to have 'fun'.
I don't think who's the boss was on ch 47. Jenny Jones definitely was...but I haven't met Tony Danza so maybe I shouldn't comment...

uh oh what have I started.
so I guess what I am hearing is that I am right. RIGHT? THAT IS WHAT I AM HEARING. CABLE FOUR.
I definitely remember the "cable four" version. but I think that became sort of needless at a certain point, because no one used an antenna to get cfmt (except me in my cable-deprived youth). But then they kept the more useless of the two it would seem. but really, if you're watching these commercials, you are probably already on that channel so I guess it doesn't make a difference.

correction - i think we used to watch who's the boss on channel 2 cable 15. it was on at 5 p.m.
