good thing I didn't have to go to work for the first five days of residency
as if 36-hour chocolate chip cookies weren't bad enough, mila and I just enjoyed a sandwich that took me two hours to make. I have got to stop giving in to these high maintenance chefs. two hour sandwiches, honestly.

If you're going to spend 2 hours making a sandwich, at least spend 5 minutes describing it to your audience, please!
eggplant (salted and pressed for an hour, then panfried), mozarella, anchovies, raisin and pinenut compote, and roasted red pepper relish, all on toasted (one side only!) honey-flax bread rubbed down with some garlic. damn you, tom colicchio, and your delicious sandwiches.
