hippy food

our current carton of rice dream (vanilla) expires 07SEP12. so either it expires some time in 2012, or else the hippies who made it are surprisingly adherent to ISO date standards and decided to list the year first. either way, how on earth can they make this rice milk last so long? it does not even need to be refrigerated until opening. I am highly suspicious.

p.s. I do not buy this hippy food. mila got it. I did sneak a little sip here and there because it is supposed to be high in iron, and who doesn't feel a little anaemic every once and a while?

is feeling anaemic your excuse for buying soy crunch cereal? and what about that vegetarian croissanwich you had today even though there was a platter full of meat ones? i think i am finally rubbing off on you! maybe soon i will even get you to come around to the idea of long beaded necklaces and, dare i dream, living on the island!

dream on.

p.s. I got the soy crunch to blend with Just Right, because the soy crunch is too sweet. but Just Right is just right all by itself! it is delicious!

simon, i agree. Just Right is one amazing cereal. Also, Kashi Go Lean is quite nice.

simon, i told you about just right. give me some cred!

also, anonymous, kashi go lean?!?! i've never seen it/tasted it but it sounds so spartan! thinking about you eating it makes me almost as sad as seeing your one fig newton (i am dubious that there were ever 2) snack. i love fig newtons, don't get me wrong, but fewer than 3 at a sitting is a waste of my time!

Kashi is a supplier of whole grain and sesame cereals. That sounds revolting enough. But then you go and get their Go Lean, which must be that much more gross. You probably eat it with soy milk or something. Skim soy milk. I'm going to hurl. Mila says it is gross to say hurl on the internet. But seriously. Kashi go lean? give me a break.

simon said...

Mila, any number of fig newtons is spartan. especially because you like those whole wheat ones. talk about hurl.

simon, i'm surprised that you managed to spell "spartan" correctly.

for those of you readers at home (and not in our home), simon took 4 tries to write "newton". first he tried "newtan", then "newten", then "newtin" and, having run out of vowels, finally, "newton".

ps, simon, did you just copy "spartan" from my message?

simon said...

in my defence, I KNEW it wasn't newtyn.

I really don't think Mila should remain relegated to the comments section. When Simon does anything particularly egregious, the world should know about it on his front page.

Doesn't Blogger allow for multiple writers?

please don't encourage mila's abuse towards poor simon.

Oh poor misguided mila and simon,

That last "anonymous" was most definitely not me!

And by the way, there were two fig newtons in my tiny ziploc yesterday. Two.

Jess

ps I do have to say that it really could have been me since i have heard wonderful things about both Just Right and Kashi Go Lean....but it wasn't me, i swear.

Anonymous said...

no, that anonymous was definately not you, jess (mostly because it was me). Also, mostly directed at simon, i don't know you, but trust me, try kashi go lean before you go around bashing it. it is seriously good and no i do not enjoy it with soy milk either, just plain old skim.

Dear anonymous #2: Are you a stalker!? Because having an internet stalker would sure give me lots of blog fodder. Are you the same person who posted gordon ramsay birthday greetings on my blog? because I am very curious as to who that was.

simon said...

Dear anonymous #2, again: it was just pointed out to me that you misspelled "definately." that is great, because that is my preferred spelling as well! other preferred simon spellings include "schedual" and "embarassed" and of course "neccesary." Anonymous #2, we should be friends!

ok simon, out of all of the anonymous commenters on your blog, i'm clearly the best one.

All the various anonymous-es are getting quite confusing. Perhaps I should adapt some sort of pseudonym? Then again I probably shouldn’t on account that I would take me forever to decided on one. And simon, I agree, we should be friends.

Simon, what if all these apparent anonymous posters are simply people you actually know, pretending to be strangers for their own nefarious purposes? Don't think I've never misspelled definitely before....(*bum bum bum BOM shocking overture music*)

luke is exactly right, Simon.

I am so confused.
