I just checked out the Wikipedia article on Wingham. The postal code mnemonic is funny.
since you are close anyways, you should head over to lucknow to check out the gift shop called "Anastasia's House of Romanoff."
and, if they sell pine river cheddar cheese in wingham, buy it. it rocks, and has been fuelling the entire fallis family for years.

bronwen, funny you should mention lucknow! I have made two trips there already, as there is an amish bakery there that makes what is possibly the best butter tart I have ever had. they also sell some delicious cinnamon bread. mmmm!
I will, needless to say, keep my eyes out for this cheddar. thanks!
I think Anastasia's House of Romanoff is actually in Listowel, which is perhaps even more dismal than Wingham.
