three-way lamps should be abolished. I mean they are better than one-way lamps as they afford you three levels of lighting but it is really quite jarring when you have some nice dim lighting but then you want to turn the light off and you have to crank it through the two brighter settings.
also things are getting out of hand: now the EU is banning incandescent bulbs or something. this has really gone too far. shouldn't they have some focus groups or something? maybe I will start a petition or maybe a smear campaign.

Evidently you have not heard of the great McGuinty plan to make Thomas Edison's great invention go the way of the DoDo by 2010.
I sincerely hope that you have not grown fond of dimmer switches on lights, as they will be of little use to you soon enough.

however, do not think for one second that you can scoop me on incandescent light bulb ban news. I am fully on top of the situation. may I refer you to the EV post of february 22, "ontario mulls incandescent light ban"?
and please do not remind of of the myriad downsides of fluorescent bulbs. it's going to be a disaster come 2010.
